Fun ~ Sailors get the chance to make some new friends during both the Jr and Adult sailing programs. Sharing a common passion
for the sport of sailing allows the sailors to develop an easy and quick friendships that may last a lifetime.
Development of New Skills and Experiences ~ The program offers new challenges for both beginners and advanced sailors so they can learn how to start sailing or continue developing their skills in the sport. This is a summer camp that kids and adults walk away with new accomplishments, friendship, skills and experiences.
Safety ~ The SYC sailing program is taught by two instructors that are certified through the Canadian Yachting Association Instructor Development Clinics. They are experienced in sailing and coaching, and are enthustiasic to pass on their knowledge to help develop future athletes in the sport of sailing.
The SYC Learn to Sail Programs offer certificates for each level of achievement, each getting more challenging as they go. Each certificate indicates that the sailor has reached the requirements of both the Theory and Sailing Skills needed to move onto the next level.
The Basic Levels include: White Sail I, II, III and the more Advanced Levels include: Bronze IV & V.
